｢ジパニア航海史～旅立ちの書～｣は､船で点在する町を巡り､交易品を売買しながらお金を稼いだり､町の人からの依頼をこなしたり､自分の店を開いて商売をする､交易ロールプレイングゲーム「メリディア航海史」シリーズ第３弾の体験版です｡
主人公のサルルやその仲間たちを操作し､仕入れた交易品を船に載せ､海原を航海して他の町を目指します｡
航海中には､海賊や化け物が襲ってくることもありますが､交渉や戦闘でうまく凌ぎつつ､頑張って他の町へたどり着いてください。
交易品を売却して稼いだお金で､より効率のよい交易品を購入したり､装備を整えることで航海が楽になります｡
また､町で売買や依頼をこなしていると､その町への貢献度が上昇します｡
貢献度が上昇することで､その町に新たな依頼が出現したり､仲間が増えたり､お店を開くことができます｡
サルルたちの商売と旅の先には､ジパニアを揺るがす大きな出来事が待ち構えているかも！？
